A QR code or Quick Response code is a 2-D barcode that is readable by most smartphones. QR codes can contain phone numbers, web addresses and other information.
How do I scan the code?
First, you need a smartphone such as an iphone or an Android based device. You also need one of several free QR code reader apps available from your app store or market. Download a free reader app and launch. This will automatically activate your phone's camera. Point your camera at the QR code to scan.
What happens when I scan this code?
Scanning the code on our website or business card will take you to Ampersand's mobile site which contains:
- A vcard which will automatically add our name, phone, website and other info into your phone's contact list.
- A button to initiate a phone call
- An e-mail link
- Links to our websites
- Links to our social sites including FaceBook, LinkedIn and Twitter
- A link to FaceBook share our mobile site
What's the advantage?
It's safe to say that the days of the Rolodex are gone. Today, business contacts are more likely to be stored on a mobile phone than stapled to an index card. But typing in a contact's name, company, position, phone number, email, website, and social sites can be time-consuming. By simply scanning the QR code from a business card or website, all that information is automatically added to your contact list at the push of a button.
Can you create a QR Code business card and mobile site for my company?
Yup. We sure can. QR codes provide a seamless connection between our products or services and potential customers. Your mobile site can contain images, embedded video, social links, vCards, forms, sign-up capture, galleries, twitter feeds and much more. Think of it as your mobile mission control—a launch pad with all your contact info in one place. Send us an email to get started.
Our small 2" x 2" two-sided business card contains minimal information and a QR code. Once the customer scans the code and saves our mobile site, the business card is obsolete.
