Walmart and its sponsoring vendors wished to effectively and demonstrably connect with its Asian customers with particular focus on Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities.
To achieve that end, we created an attractive full-color, 24-page, 8.5” x 11” magazine which was distributed in Walmart stores the first week
of May in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
There are several articles in the publication: Tantalizing recipes by Bravo TV star Chef Lee Anne Wong–presently the executive chef of event operations for The French Culinary Institute in New York. Her dishes blend exotic Eastern flavors and techniques with Western ingredients in an absolutely stunning presentation. An education article assisted Asian-Americans to successfully navigate language, income, and education challenges in the US. The article provides valuable information such as a list of college scholarships available to Asian-Americans. Interviews with CNN’s anchor Betty Nguyen, White House Chef Christeta Comerford and the Korean actor “Rain.”
The magazine provided a truly authentic light for Walmart to shine in the midst of its Asian-American communities, connecting itself to them in a powerful and trusted manner.
