Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina was elected the 266th Pope on March 13, 2013. He chose the name Francis in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Shortly thereafter, his Papal Coat of Arms was released by the Vatican. Ampersand created high resolution versions for use in Catholic publications.
